Hero Champ is relatively heroic.
Hero Champ, the deli on the corner of 3rd Ave and 36th Street in Sunset Park, does a thriving business and is very popular - which is probably why their prices are higher than you would expect - my chicken salad sandwich was $4.25 and with lettuce and tomato was $4.75.

Spiro’s Cafe - reliable, cheap, friendly 36th & Fourth
Spiro’s continues to please after three lunch visits. I specially like their salads. Maria is the fast, efficient waitress who remembers her regulars and is a nice person.
