What’s Good About the 36th Street Station

Industry City Creative Workspaces are blessed with the 36th Street Station, a block and half from our door. Featuring the express N and D, the local R and the rush hour local M, we can ride to lower Manhattan in 10 minutes. I’ve done it, really. Please post other average times if you disagree!

Because the D and N stop only at Pacific/Atlantic and then go over the Manhattan Bridge, we can reach Broadway/Lafayette, West 4th or Union Square in 15 minutes. While we’ve all been toasted by the subway, generally it runs fast on this route.

The R local gets you down to Bay Ridge, up to Gowanus and Park Slope, through downtown Brooklyn and the Heights, to the tip of Manhattan and beyond. The M even goes to East Williamsburg and Bushwick.

We are told by Ms. Peterson-Greene, the Transit Authority Zone Supervisor and Andy Inglesby, Community Relations for the TA, that the 24/7/365 station spacious station is relatively clean, well-staffed and is special, given the double-sided platforms and high ceilings. They told me that the station is policed out of the Surf Avenue HQ of the 34th Transit District and that a police officer is assigned 24 hours to cover the 36th, 45th and 59th Street stations.

We think you’ll find this station way better than average.
